Gene Scher is vice president of Business Development for Dev-Byrne & Company on the West Coast, where he leads the sales and marketing teams. Gene has been a business management leader for over 30 years specializing in reorganizations, and capital fund raises. Gene has the unique ability to innovate and create business strategies that attain tangible results across business sectors particularly in the direct response, data analysis, and modeling arenas.
His primary focus is to build awareness about Dev-Byrne’s unique capabilities among prospective clients and develop and maintain relationships with current and past clients. Before joining Dev-Byrne, Gene founded Advanced Management Systems in 1982, which was ranked in the top five direct marketing firms in the U.S, with clients that included the British Royal Mint, Johnson and Johnson, and various insurance and financial institutions. From 1992 through 1997 he concentrated on building and selling trading card companies and was integral in the development of Skybox (one of the premier trading card companies in the country). After four years Skybox was sold for nine figures. During the Skybox years, Gene negotiated deals with major sports leagues and the major entertainment companies.
Gene holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hunter University and a Post-Graduate Degree from Manhattan College. Throughout his career, Gene has found satisfaction engaging in diverse environments through involvement in various philanthropic and political organizations
